I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and have been working with children with special needs for 25. I have a bachelor's degree in education from Beaver College and went on to receive my master's degree in special education from St. Joseph’s University. I have been working with children with special needs for the past 25 years.
I developed the Wanna Play Program in 2001 and have been providing social skills instruction and behavioral support in homes and schools.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy being with friends. My favorite weekend activity is enjoying the outdoors with my spouse and two kids.
This social skills group focuses on providing a strong foundation of concepts that are required for social success. Areas of concentration include: friendship skills, body language awareness, cooperation, listening, perspective taking/awareness, self regulation, and emotional management. Skills are taught through both direct teaching of concepts and real-time practice in activities planned in the group.
I am available on an hourly basis to give families advice about finding the right college, writing applications, standardized testing, and more.
I offer a complete service that includes evaluating the student's academic record, establishing reachable goals, advising the student throughout the application process, and advocating for the student.
Functional behavior assessment is generally considered to be an approach that incorporates a variety of techniques and strategies to diagnose the causes and to identify likely interventions intended to address problem behaviors. In other words, a functional behavior assessment looks beyond the overt topography of the behavior, and focuses, instead upon identifying biological, social, affective, and environmental factors that initiate, sustain, or end the behavior in question.
I offer a complimentary one-hour service to go over the application process with the student and their family. After this initial consultation, I follow up with the family to recommend an appropriate service for their needs.
